Old Stable Mews
Set within a picturesque cut-stone courtyard in a quiet corner of the Estate surrounded by ancient woodlands, The Old Stable Mews is a rare blend of contemporary elegance and Victorian craftsmanship. Situated ten minutes walk, or a short drive through the estate to the Castle, this old coachhouse has been fully restored and refurbished and offers twelve wonderful two-bedroomed Mews equipped with every modern comfort. It is the ideal setting for families, friends and small groups on activity breaks.
With a fully equipped conference room and breakout rooms, it is also a unique alternative to more conventional conference venues.
Guests can choose to cater for themselves or dine in one of the restaurants on the Estate. We can also take the stress out of self-catering by supplying welcome basket or breakfast basket (filled with delicious fresh food) or by stocking your fridge with all the provisions you need for your stay.
We know that many of you like to bring your dogs on holiday with you. They deserve a break as much as you do! Many of the Old Stable Mews are suitable for dogs and with its acres of space, secluded paths and forestry trails, the Estate is ideal for dogs. It’s full of exciting smells and new territory to explore. You'll find open hillside, rivers, farmland, forests and mountains right on your doorstep, so there's no shortage of walks.
